Pomeroy Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 Ambulance would like to let all of our residents and business' know that our annual fund drive will be appearing in the mail sometime around April 1st. Please don't discard this important mailing. We need your help more than ever to help purchase a new ambulance to replace one of our aging ambulances. Our units are 13 and 14 years old respectivly. Over the last three years we have seen a jump in our call volume of almost 300 calls and with the townships we serve growing both residential and commercially we are going to need that new ambulance.
Now these funds won't go solely towards the purchase of a new ambulance, the funds will also be used to pay career staff, that help keep the community we are dedicated in protecting with EMS service Monday through Friday during the day time. We are not expecting the residents or the business' to pick up the full cost of a new ambulance, which will be around $150,000.00, we have applied for and received a grant from the State Fire Commissioners office and we are applying for the Assistants To Fire Fighters Grant from the Federal Government. With the donations we receive and the Grant money we obtain we hope to be able to purchase the new ambulance, and have money to place into savings to help with paying the career staff during the times that insurances are slow to pay.
